Where appropriate, we believe that onscreen assessment should become an option for schools and learners.

We believe that more transformational approaches to assessment should be considered.

We believe that GCSE English needs to better prepare students for post-16 study of English, whether at A level or for vocational needs.

We believe the cycle of resits post-16 is damaging for students’ progress in their education and future careers.

We believe that achieving grade 4 or above in GCSE English should not be the only measure to demonstrate literacy skills for life and work.
